1. Privacy Statement
UDPCore is an Android application that sends control commands to microcontrollers and other hardware you own, either over UDP on your local Wi-Fi network or over a Bluetooth Classic connection. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information.
UDPCore does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The app has no user accounts, analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or third-party tracking. The developer operates no server and receives no information from the app.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
UDPCore saves configuration data only in Android's app-private storage. This includes:
- The target IP address and port you enter
- The command strings assigned to controls
- The send interval and related transmission preferences
- The name and Bluetooth address of a device you select
- Your slider configuration and control-surface preference
Local only: This configuration is not sent to the developer or any third party. Android backup is disabled for UDPCore, and the data is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
3. Information the App Transmits
The only data UDPCore sends is the control data you trigger. It goes directly to the destination you configure: an IP address on your network or a Bluetooth device you have paired. Nothing is routed through the developer or another third party.
3.1 Permissions and Their Purpose
- Internet and network state: Opens a UDP socket and sends command packets to the device address you specify.
- Bluetooth connect and scan: Lists paired devices, discovers nearby devices when you request a scan, and opens the serial connection you choose.
- Approximate and precise location on Android 11 and older: Older Android versions require location permission for Bluetooth discovery. UDPCore uses it only to discover Bluetooth devices and never reads, records, stores, or transmits your location. This permission is not requested on Android 12 or newer.
4. Third-Party Services
UDPCore uses open-source Flutter libraries for local settings storage, Bluetooth serial communication, permission handling, and opening the privacy policy in your browser. These libraries do not collect or transmit user data on the developer's behalf.
5. Minors' Privacy
UDPCore is a hardware-control utility and is not directed at children. It collects no data from any user, regardless of age.
6. Policy Updates
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a revised effective date.
